DMS Navigator's Employee Satisfaction

Employee satisfaction is at the epicentre of DMS Navigator. Let’s face it, our employees are our biggest assets! Without them the wheels would stop turning.

Employee Satisfaction and our workplace culture

Employee satisfaction is of utmost importance. It drives people to work with motivation and ambition when they feel appreciated and valued.

So, what is employee satisfaction?

Employment satisfaction is based around several things, from benefits to the role itself.

If you're trying to build a stronger culture within your organisation, it's important to also consider whether they're enjoying it and if their workload is well balanced. Everyone's heard of it, and everyone hates office politics. Does your environment suit everyone, and do you make sure it's not a dread coming to work?

Other ideals to consider are:

  • Do they feel valued as an employee?
  • Do they understand your values and does your management reflect on them?

How do we maintain high employee satisfaction?

Carrying out 6-monthly reviews that consist of an appraisal and a personal review is one part of our process. This allows us to give feedback to the employee on areas they are doing well and areas where we can assist in helping them improve. It is then followed by a personal review that is all about THEM which gives them a safe environment for them to express how they are feeling, if there are any issues they want to raise, etc. To help reduce burnout, anxiety or other problems we implemented an open-door policy, allowing employees to express any concerns at any time – this means that they do not stew on issues and can discuss them straight away. This does not only include work related items but also if they need to talk to someone about things outside of work. No door is closed – not even the Managing Directors.

To keep everyone happy and healthy at home and at work, here are some other items we cover:

  • We always ensure that our employees are not over-worked – encourage them to always take their breaks and to leave on time. We pay attention.
  • Our environment is well lit and bright – as well as providing a large breakout room for our employees to chill out in on break times and lunchtimes. This includes a pool table and a TV! And if anything goes by Simon Verona, I am sure we will also soon have a retro arcade machine!
  • We don’t micro-manage! We trust our employees to do the work they are capable of.

What schemes have we built?

Paying employees what they're worth has always been on our agenda, so not only are we offering competitive pay, but benefits and schemes on top of this!

Our schemes include:

  • Health Scheme – this contributes a certain value towards dentist appointments, opticians, physio etc. as well as offering counselling services.
  • Discount scheme – it allows employees to get discounts at different shops, as well as certain freebies, etc.
  • Long service scheme – each time an employee hits a milestone they will either get a gift, an additional bonus, and even a holiday for one of them!
  • We contribute to the whole of their pension and do not take any deductions from the annual salary unless they opt to put more into their pot!
  • Every department has a bonus or commission scheme – if we do well, they do well! Afterall, if it wasn’t for them, we wouldn’t be able to achieve all we do!
  • We do regular celebrations – Christmas, Summer, Easter!! We love to celebrate!

The list goes on!

Look after your employees and your employees will look after you!
